This Family

The members of the Sequoyahs family are myself, the kitties and my dog, Geisha. Geisha's full name is "Sassibells Geisha", she is a Bearded Collie and she was born on Feb 5, 1992.

Geisha is a real happy personality - always joyful and in a good mood :-))  At least someone in this family is.... :-)))  Earlier in my life I have had Afghan Hounds, but I changed breed for special reasons. I will always love the looks and the personality of the Afghan Hounds, though. I think they are the real aristocrats of the dog world. :-)   I can hardly think of something more beautiful. The personality of an Afghan Hound is very much the personality of a cat - maybe that is one reason why that breed fascinates me so much. :-)

All the kitties and Geisha are living with
me as family members. I only separate
some cats occasionally, because of females
in season, or other special reasons. The kittens are born in my bedroom and live there until they are old enough to need,
and can handle, more space -  usually
when they are about 4-6 weeks old.

Both the kitties and Geisha are living a life of love and tenderness. We all love each other, and my dear friends are high priority to me. We all love to cuddle in the bed at night, for example. :-)))

I bought my first Persian cat in 1982. His name was Ramses and he was a seal point Himalayan. He died of age a couple of years ago, 13½ years old. He was a real gentleman and a very, very kind personality. I still miss him, as I miss all those that I have lost.

I started breeding in 1991 - started "from sctrach"
and worked my way up. I have been very proud of my
cats and my breeding, so when PKD almost wiped out
my cattery/breeding during the autumn 1997, I was devastated. To be honest I think I will never come to
terms with that.

I made the decision to try to continue - but now
breeding only from PKD tested negative cats. I cross my fingers and hope to be able to maintain my smoke breeding. I love all my cats, and I am fond of many colors, but I admit having a really passionate love for smoke.

The way PKD hit my cattery, in combination with my interest in veterinary medicine, made me open the PKD-list, mailing list, in April 1998. The Feline PKD Home Page was opened August 1, 1998.

This is me...
As I appreciate so very much when other breeders upload their photo on their website,
I decided to do the same :-)

Besides from what I have already told you, my main interest is nature. I guess I am very Swedish in that way. :-) I also have an interest in people, other cultures, cooking, photography - and a lot of other things.....

Due to a tough everyday situation suffering from fibromyalgia it is these days difficult for me to bring my cats to shows.

Thanks for reading this far, and thanks for visiting.  I hope you enjoy my website! I guess you have noticed that I also have a great interest in the life and history of the American Indians. :-)
